Halliburton
Halliburton is one of the leading global oilfield services company. The corporation employs over 50,000 people and has operations in more than 70 countries worldwide. Former U.S.-Vice President Richard "Dick" Cheney has been Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Halliburton from 1995 to 2000.

Halliburton and the Iraq War
Halliburton was one of the main profiteers of the Iraq War. According to the British Newspaper The Guardian, Halliburton received $19.3bn in single-source contracts for work in Iraq. In 2003 the Halliburton subsidiary KBR was issued a no-bid contract to conduct oil well firefighting in Iraq, thanks to its business contacts to U.S. Vice President Cheney.
