Whom the Nazis Blamed

Part of the prearranged Nazi propaganda was to blame the Reichstag fire on a Jewish individual, a Dutchman by the name of Marinus van der Lubbe, and on the political opposition parties.

The Reichstag Fire Trial was prepared by the Nazis as one of the first show trials which should become a hallmark of their terror regime. The infamous “Reichstagsbrand Prozess” took place in autumn 1933 in the Court of Leipzig, Germany.
